5 Great SEO Blogs

The following are SEO Blogs that I would consider “must read” for any industry related news:

  • Matt Cutts Blog - Matt is a software engineer that has been working for Google since 2000. He is the head of Google’s Webspam team and he is very active with the SEO community. Matt appears to have a lot of influence at Google, and seems to be involved in decisions that effect the SEO business community, so he is at the top of my list for SEO Blogs.
  • SEOmoz Blog - Rank Fishkin has come on strong in the SEO world, recently taking over #1 position for the term “SEO Blog” in Google. The #1 ranking was previously held, for years, by none other than Matt Cutts. From what I gather, this achievement alone set Rand into the upper echelon of SEOs out there. His blog is very informative and gives good insight into what it takes to be a successful SEO/SEM. The tools provided by this site are excellent.
  • SEOBook - Aaron Wall is another great source for SEO news and advice…he also offers a great SEO Book (hence the name “SEO Book”) and some Free, useful SEO Tools right on his site. Aaron gives a unique perspective on SEO and his blog is a must read.
  • ShoeMoney - Shoemoney has the skills to pay the bills. More of an Internet Marketing blog than a SEO blog, Shoemoney provides SEOs with different ideas and ways to enhance their online marketing campaigns. The blog also provides ideas for online opportunities that could be lucrative with the right marketing strategies.
  • SearchEngineLand - Danny Sullivan and Vanessa Fox are 2 of the editors over at SearchEngineLand.com, both highly recognized names in the industry. This blog provides industy news on all the major search engines, and is a must read for any serious SEO. They also put on a Search Engine Conference, SMX in several locations around the world.
